Annual Art Contest

Calling all artists! Did you miss the Artist Alley application deadline, or didn’t make it in? Or do you just want a chance to win a FREE Artist Alley table for Anime Fusion 2024? Well, now’s your chance to make it happen!

Anime Fusion is in need of a featured artist for our 2024 convention cycle. What does a featured artist do? Their job is to create eye-catching artwork for Anime Fusion. What we need is t-shirt art and art for the cover of our program guide. These can be separate images or the same image with reduced colors for t-shirt printing purposes. Art should preferably feature our new mascots, but we will consider all entries. Reference images for the mascots are shown below. You can choose one, two, all, or none – it’s totally up to you. We want you to have the freedom to bring your idea to life, and we’re excited to see what you come up with!

The contest winner will receive the following perks:

  • Two weekend badges to this year’s convention
  • Your artwork featured on a shirt that will be sold at Anime Fusion this year
  • Your artwork featured as the cover art for our program guide
  • A special mention in our program guide thanking you for your submission
  • A reserved and complimentary Artist Alley vendor table to sell your art during the con weekend (a value of $115)

To be considered, we ask that you please come up with a concept image for our t-shirt design. This DOES NOT need to be a finished illustration, it can just be line work. It should try to fit our theme this year which is This is Halloween! Please note that AI-generated art is not permitted and will result in an automatic disqualification. Once you have your concept artwork, please submit it using the form below.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Upon selection, full ownership and usage rights of the artwork will be transferred to Anime Fusion exclusively – please avoid using personal or pre-existing art.
  • Please refrain from posting your submission online/on social media until the completion of the contest period.
  • Please keep in mind that t-shirt art will be printed with reduced colors; we cannot print full color/fully rendered art on our t-shirts, but this is not an issue for our program guide cover.

The contest will close on June 30th at 11:59 pm. After that, our team will go over all the entries and within one week we will have our winner. All artists who submitted artwork can expect an email from us concerning if they did or didn’t win. Finished art for the t-shirt/program guide will be due by July 31. You will also be expected to check in with our team periodically during final art production phase.
